Phase 2 Intro

Phase 2 Intro

Phase 2 covers the full on‑site build: mounting hardware, running conduit, and installing the electrical components that bring the system together. This is the hands‑on construction stage where the design becomes a physical, code‑compliant solar installation.

Phase 2: Installation

Build, Mount & Wire

This phase focuses on assembling the system safely and accurately. Each component is installed according to the planset so the system is structurally sound, electrically correct, and ready for commissioning.

Racking & Mounting

The roof or ground structure is prepared and the racking system is installed:

  • Layout is marked according to the planset
  • Flashing, rails, and attachments are secured
  • Panels are mounted and aligned
  • All hardware is torqued to manufacturer specifications

This ensures the array is stable, weather‑sealed, and positioned for optimal production.

Electrical BOS & Conduit

The balance‑of‑system wiring is completed:

  • Conduit runs are installed from the array to the service equipment
  • Junction boxes, disconnects, and breakers are mounted
  • AC and DC wiring is pulled, landed, and labeled
  • Grounding and bonding are completed per code

This step creates the electrical pathway that connects the array to the home’s power system.

Inverters & Batteries

All power electronics are installed and prepared for activation:

  • Microinverters or string inverters are mounted and wired
  • Batteries and backup equipment are installed (if included)
  • Communication devices, CTs, and sensors are placed
  • System wiring is verified against the planset

This completes the functional core of the system and prepares it for Phase 3 commissioning.
